I recently started playing this sport a few months ago, and I think I have only played like 2 times since then. Not because I have been busy with shows, or with work, or the girl..but because this game is so stupid!
Maybe its because I come from a sport back ground of all sports that involve as much running and pain as possible...Football(kicker) Rugby(fullback, wing). I played these sports in high school and college and I absolutely love them. I'm not quite sure why...it could be the awesome sensation of the crowd backing you up, the feeling you get when you hit someone without pads on, the blood and grime you clean off yourself after the game, I don't know what it is but I love it.....
Then there is Ultimate...the game that has become a happy valley over night hit(no one even knows what this is outside of happy valley). Now for those of you that read this that have no idea what this game is let me tell you...You play with a Frisbee, no equal amount of people and basically you throw the Frisbee to your teammates who then run to the touchdown area...WAIT WRONG!!!!!! once you catch the flat round object you can't run at all! See ever since I was a wee lad I was taught once you catch anything you run like Hades to the goal, touchdown, basket, whatever to get points...well in this lame game you catch the ball and in all your momentum you have to come to a dead stop....by which time people from the opposing team begins to do jumping jacks in front of you to stop any throwing at all...
I may add that I got in trouble a few times for just tackling people...another attribute that I have thanks to being taught to kill anything with a ball in Rugby...in short for all you people that love ultimate frisbee...please stop trying to spread the disease through out the world...I miss coming to a buddies house and playing football, soccer, rugby, hockey, basketball...now all I hear is lets play ultimate lameness....it saddens my spirits.
I too do not understand the craziness that is Ultimate Lameness (I'm going to start calling it that), or why it seems to be so popular around here.
